Norristown, Pa. – (4/18/2019) – With 30 runs in all, today's contest with West Chester University was anything but a pitchers' duel. The Golden Rams delivered the winning runs in the top of the ninth inning, plating four runs in the frame out top the Griffins by a 16-14 margin. Sophomore left fielder
Michael Perugini (Tamarac, Fla.) was the Scarlet and Gold's top performer with a 3-for-5 effort that included a run-scoring single in the first inning and a run-scoring double in the fifth inning. Four other Griffins recorded multiple hits, including senior catcher
Eric Gilham (Deptford, N.J.), who singled in a pair of runs in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
West Chester University (20-10) scored two runs in each of their first four at-bats to outscore Chestnut Hill College (22-19) 8-3 in the early going. After the Golden Rams added a ninth run in the top of fifth inning, 9-3, the Griffins turned the tide with six runs in the bottom of the frame; 9-9. West Chester University reestablished an 11-9 lead with a pair of runs in the sixth inning, but four Scarlet and Gold runs gave the Griffins a 13-11 edge heading to the seventh inning. There each side scored a run to leave the spread at 14-12 for the final two frames. Unfortunately, the Golden Rams' four-run ninth inning did the trick, propelling the visitors to a 16-14 victory.
Freshman second baseman
Luke LeBeau (Pittsfield, Mass.) led off the Griffins' six-run fifth inning with a double to left center. Junior catcher
Thomas Spratt (Doylestown, Pa.), Gilham, and senior designated hitter

Sam Barletta (Royersford, Pa.) (1-for-3, 2BB, 1RBI) and sophomore centerfielder
