Griffins' Senior Celebration Ends In 23-5 Victory Against Eagles



Philadelphia, Pa. – (4/27/2019) – As Chestnut Hill College defeated Post University, 23-5, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest, they also acknowledged 10 seniors, midfielder Troy Ellers (Wantagh, N.Y.), midfielder John Bennett (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.), attack Casey Brown (Havre de Grace, Md.), midfielder Nick Webber (Westwood, Mass.), midfielder Daniel Vilardi (Little Silver, N.J.), midfielder Tyler Howe (Bowie, Md.), attack Michael DelGiorno (Floral Park, N.Y.), defender Christopher Dachowski (Sellersville, Pa.), defender Matthew Anderson (Yardley, Pa.), and defender Connor Crawford (Limerick, Pa.), in a Senior Day celebration prior to the start of the game.
 
Chestnut Hill College () dominated majority of the game out shooting Post University () 28-12 in the first half, that led to the 12-2 half.  Sophomore attack Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) scored five of his seven goals in the first half to give the Griffins the edge they needed to put the Eagles away early. Despite the 12-2 lead the Griffins kept the same energy scoring 11 more goals, finishing the match 23-5.

Rees went 7-of-10 (.700) in shot attempts and also recorded three ground balls, while sophomore midfielder Ben Revak (Aston, Pa.) posted four goals, one assist, and one ground ball.  Ellers finished with three goals; Bennett (3 AST), Wilden, and freshman defender P.J. Spernal (Jackson, N.J.) with two; and Dachowski, Brown, and sophomore attack J.R. Howell (East Meadow, N.Y.) all contributed one goal each. Freshman goalkeeper Austin Jones (Courtice, Ontario, Canada) finished with seven saves and the win.
