Reinert Scores Only Griffin Goal in CACC Loss to Georgian Court University

Lakewood, N.J. - (4/3/2019) – Chestnut Hill College continued their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule today, Wednesday, April 3, with a trip to Georgian Court University. There, the Lions posted a 15-1 victory over the Griffins as senior midfielder Julia Reinert (Bridgeport, Pa.) accounted for the only Scarlet and Gold goal with a late first-half tally (10-1, 8:43) off the feed from sophomore midfielder Angela Faraglia (Clifton Heights, Pa.).

Georgian Court University (6-4, 2-0) scored 10 unanswered goals in the first half, mounting a commanding 10-0 advantage with 11:15 still to play in the opening 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the Faraglia-Reinert connection only served as an interruption to the Lions eventual 14-goal victory as the home team scored twice more before halftime, 12-1, and three times in the second half to defeat Chestnut Hill College (2-5, 1-1) by a 15-1 measure.

Junior midfielder Adrianna Quinlan (Delran. N.J.) topped the Georgian Court University half of the box score with four goals, a ground ball, and a draw. Two other Lions recorded three goals apiece and five others offered a goal each; most notably was senior attack Samantha Fernandez (Toms River, N.J.), who offered three goals, an assist, four ground balls, a draw, and two caused turnovers to the Lion victory.

Reinert added six draws to her tally. Senior midfielder Macailagh Smith (Red Bank, N.J.), senior forward Rita Lynn Trainer (Conshohocken, Pa.), and junior midfielder Spencer Fitzgerald (Huntingtown, Md.) offered as much support as they could; Smith recorded three ground balls, Trainer totaled two ground balls, and Fitzgerald contributed two ground balls and a draw. Senior goalkeeper Valeria Amaya (Oakland, Calif.) made eight saves recovered a ground ball in the loss (2-5).

Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule on Saturday, April 6, when they visit Dominican College for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
