Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – (9/23/2019) – Chestnut Hill College did not surrender a single flight in today's season opener as they defeated Kutztown University by a perfect 7-0 final. The Griffins' doubles point was secured with a 6-1 win in the third flight and a 6-0 win in the second flight. Individual victories from senior Antoine Gautier (Bordeaux, France) (6-1, 6-2 @ #3), junior Kiki Dagneaux (Saint-Gervasy, France) (6-2, 7-5 @ #2), and sophomore Tom Pitchley (London, England) (7-6, 6-4 (7-3) @ #1) precipitated the Scarlet and Gold victory.
 
Chestnut Hill College (1-0) won the doubles point off Kutztown University (0-1) with wins in the third and second team flights. Senior Adam Gavin (Gothenburg, Sweden) and sophomore Kai Adler (Leer, Germany) scored the Griffins first doubles win with a 6-1 victory at number three doubles. Gautier and Dagneaux then added a 6-0 win at number two doubles to secure Chestnut Hill College the doubles point. Afterwards, Pitchley and senior Erik Jorsal (Mudgeeraba, Australia) completed the sweep with their 7-6 (7-1) win at number one doubles.
 
Gautier added to the Scarlet and Gold lead with his 6-1, 6-2, victory at number three singles. The Chestnut Hill College triumph was secured soon after thanks to Dagneaux's 6-2, 7-6, win at number two singles and Pitchley's 7-6, 6-4 (7-3), win at number one singles. Adler, Jorsal, and Gavin added the Griffins final three points with their respective wins at number five (8-0), number four (6-0, 6-3), and number six (7-1, retired) singles.
 
Chestnut Hill College concludes their fall schedule on Sunday, September 29, when they host Bloomsburg University in a 1:00 p.m. Senior Day match.
