Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/8/2019) – Chestnut Hill College opened their 2019-2020 season schedule today, Sunday, September 8, at home with an afternoon match versus Le Moyne College. The short-handed Griffins were playing from behind at the start and scored their only point of the match at number two singles, where senior Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) triumphed by a 6-0, 7-5, final.
 
Chestnut Hill College (0-1) enjoyed a hard-fought 7-6 victory in the top doubles flight thanks to the combined effort of Broville and fellow senior Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia). Unfortunately, with the default loss at number three doubles and a 6-0 loss at number two doubles, the Griffins had already surrendered the doubles point, 1-0. Le Moyne College (1-0) only improved their standing in singles play, where a default win in the sixth flight and consecutive wins at number four (6-0, 6-0) and number three (6-0, 6-0) singles clinched the match for the Dolphins. They also added a 6-0, 6-2, win at number five singles and a 6-0, 6-0, win at number one singles before Broville concluded the match with her 6-0, 7-5, triumph in the second solo flight.
 
Chestnut Hill College takes a brief break from their duel match schedule to visit United States Tennis Association (USTA) Billie Jean king National Tennis Center, on Friday, September 13, for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championships.
