West Caldwell , N.J. (10/9/2021) - A late fourth quarter run gave the Caldwell University Sprint Football team a 24-3 win over Chestnut Hill College Saturday night at Bonnel Field in West Caldwell, New Jersey.
The Griffins fall to 1-3 with the loss while Caldwell improves to 3-0
Hank Gallacher put up the only points for the Griffins, connecting on a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter, giving Chestnut Hill a 3-0 lead at the time.
Caldwell scored a touchdown later in the quarter to make the score 7-3 where it would remain until the Cougars tacked on 17 points in the final 9:36 to provide the final 24-3 score.
Connor Rohrbach had five completions for 49 yards to pass the Chestnut Hill air attack. Rohrbach also added 23 yards rushing while Ira Blaine had 25.
Gallacher also became the second punter in program history to record a punt of 60 or more yards with a 61-yard effort in the second quarter.
Defensively,
Ryan Jakeman led the Griffins with 11 tackles while
Nas Cooke added eight along with two sacks.
