Maddie Gannon was named to the All-Tournament Team as the Chestnut Hill College women's bowling team concluded their second day of competition at the Bud Whitman Memorial invitational at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
Gannon
(Glenolden, Pa) was the Griffins top bowler and finished fourth overall among the 39 bowlers competing. The junior bowler averaged 208 over the five game traditional series.
The Griffins finished in sixth place among the six teams recording a 1-4 record in the five matches.
Sophomore
Hope Widmer (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) led Chestnut Hill in the first match, bowling a 191 as the Griffins were defeated by Kutztown, 868-768.
Caldwell University defeated the Griffins in the second game 960-787 as Gannon led the team with a 200 score with freshman
Eryn Moore (Bainbridge, Pa.) following with a 174.
Gannon bowled her high game of the day in the Griffins third match, leading the team with a score of 223 as Chestnut Hill defeated Felician College 862-838.Â
Jess Hollabaugh (Folsom, Pa.) added a scored of 214 in the winning effort.
The Griffins lost the final two matches of the day, falling to Wilmington 907-766 and to Mount St. Mary's 1092-766. Mount St. Mary's went undefeated to win the tournament.Â
Gannon was the top Griffin bowler in both matches, scoring 209 against the Wildcats and 221 versus Mount St. Mary's.
Chestnut Hill College will compete at Mount St. Mary's at the Mount Shootout on October 16 and 17.
