Philadelphia, Pa. (10/7/2021) - The Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team brought a 'never quit' attitude to the floor as they faced Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) powerhouse Wilmington University Thursday night at Sorgenti Arena. The Griffins came-from behind to capture the first set 26-24 and played the remaining sets close as the Wildcats managed to capture the next three to earn a 3-1 win (26-24, 14-25, 20-25, 21-25)

The loss drops the Griffins to 2-10 overall and 0-6 in CACC matches while Wilmington improves to 10-7 overall and 6-1 in league play.
Erika Dubosky (Summit Hill, Pa.) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with a team high 12 kills and 20 digs.
Henielys Ramos (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) also recorded a double-double with a match-high 33 assists to go along with 13 digs.
Lauren Lipinski (Gilbert, Ariz.) added nine kills while
Angela April Folsom, Pa.) chipped in seven.
Defensively, three additional Griffin players reached double figures for digs with
Mia Caporellie (Downingtown, Pa.), Vanessa Caballero (San Dimas, Calif.) and
Torrin Kelley (Hanover, Pa.) notching 13 digs apiece.
Leah Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa.) led the team with four blocks.
In the opening set, Wilmington jumped out to an early lead before Chestnut Hill rallied to tie the game three times the last at 13-13. The Wildcats scored the next three points forcing the Griffins to battle back the rest of the set. Wilmington was a point away from winning the set at 24-22 before the Griffins staged their comeback rally. Two attack errors by the Wildcats forced a 24-24 tie. Lipinski followed with a kill to give Chestnut Hill their first lead of the set at 25-24. Another Wildcat attack error followed at the Griffins completed the comeback to win 26-24 and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Wilmington led wire-to-wire in the second set and outscored Chestnut Hill 8-2 over the final ten rallies to earn a 25-14 win and even the match at one set apiece.
In the third set, the Griffins trailed early and were down 13-9 when the team went on a 7-2 run to take a 16-15 lead. Highlighting the run were two kills from Lipinski and an ace from Dubosky. Wilmington countered with four straight points but the Griffins showed no signs of folding, battling back within one 21-20 before the Wildcats put the set away 25-20 and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
A pair of kills from Miller along with one kill each from Dubosky and Lipinski staked the Griffins to their biggest lead in the match in the fourth set, 7-3. Wilmington rallied to tie the set at 9-9. Neither team would lead by more than two until the final rallies as Wilmington opened a 23-19 lead. The Griffins could get no closer as the dropped the final set 25-21.
The Griffins are back in action on Saturday, October 9, 2021 when they travel to Waterbury, Connecticut to face CACC North division foe Post University. Tipoff is at 2:00 p.m.
