Griffins Earn Two Wins on First Day of Coppin State Invitational

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team was back in action for the first time in over 30 days, competing at the Coppin State Invitational on Saturday.  The Griffins took home two wins on the first day of competition in the traditional match format.

The Griffins (6-19) opened the day's competition against host Coppin State, falling to the Eagles, 878-717.  Eryn Moore led Chestnut Hill with a score of 179. 

In the next match, Chestnut Hill earned their first win of the day, defeating Virginia State University 719-571.   Moore was again the Griffins top bowler with a score of 171. 

The Griffins made it two wins in row in their next match, defeating Norfolk State University, 866-801, the team's highest score so far this season.   Maddie Gannon bowled a 202 to lead the team.  Moore added a score of 196 while Hope Widmer and Jessica Hollabaugh bowled 195 and 193 respectively.

Chestnut Hill dropped their final two matches of the day, falling to Caldwell University, 862-691 and Kutztown University 874-843.   Gannon led the team with a score of 203 in the Kutztown loss while Hollabaugh added a score of 194

The Griffins are back in action on Sunday for the Baker match format at the Lady Eagles Invitational at the Woodlawn Lanes in Baltimore, Maryland.
