The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling Team concluded the fall portion of their season at the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational on Sunday, winning three of their five Baker format matches.
The three wins gave the Griffins a 5-5 record for the tournament, improving their season mark to 9-21 on the year. In terms of total pins, the Griffins finished ninth out of the ten teams competing.
Opening the competition on Sunday, the Griffins faced eventual tournament champion Morgan State University. The Bears handed the Griffins a 964-824 loss.Â
Maddie Gannon and
Jess Hollabaugh both filled nine of ten frames in the matches.
The Griffins earned an 838-824 win over Bloomfield College in their next match. Gannon filled all ten of her frames in the win. Chestnut Hill recorded their first 200 Baker game of the season and shot 194 in their final game of the match to pull out the win as the team was trailing by four pins heading into the final Baker game of the match.
Howard University took the third match of the day from the Griffins, 794-719. Gannon again led the team, filling eight of ten frames.
In the fourth match, Chestnut Hill recorded one of their best sets of the year, defeating Wagner College 867-809.Â
Eryn Moore led the Griffins filling nine of ten frames.Â
Chase Clifford had a strong match as she filled all four frames in the last two games of the match leading the way for the Griffins.
Chestnut Hill earned their third win of the day in the final match, defeating Virginia State University 693-556.Â
Hope Widmer and Gannon both filled nine of ten frames to lead the Griffins.
For the day, Gannon filled 82% of her frames in the competition (41/50) and struck 46% of the time.
The Chestnut Hill Women's Bowling Team returns to action in January, competing at the Sacred Heart University Tournament held at Bowlero Lanes in Deptford, New Jersey on January 21-22, 2022.
