Hard-Fought Four-Set Loss for Griffins Women's Volleyball team at Dominican College

The Chestnut Hill College Women's volleyball team lost a hard-fought match to host Dominican College, 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-27) Saturday afternoon at the Hennessy Center in Orangeburg, New York.

The Griffins fall to 7-15 overall and 4-11 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games.  Dominican improves to 8-16 overall and 6-9 in league play.

Mia Caporellie and Henielys Ramos both recorded doubles-doubles on the afternoon.  Caporellie had 43 assists setting the Griffin offense while recording a team-high 18 digs on defense for her 12th double-double of the season.  The match also marks the eighth time this season that she has recorded 40 or more assists in a match.  Ramos had a match-high 17 kills while adding 13 digs on defense for her eighth double-double of 2021.

Angela April also reached double figures for kills with ten on the afternoon, one shy of her career high.  April also led the team with three blocks.  Mikayla Grimes produced a team-high four service aces and added 12 digs while Vanessa Caballero also recorded 12 digs on the afternoon.

As a team, the Griffins recorded more kills (53) than the Chargers (47) and also had more digs (67-61) and aces (12-11).  Dominican recorded more team blocks (10) than Chestnut Hill (4) and finished the match with a higher attack percentage, .204 (47-18-142) to the Griffins' .163 (53-28-153).

The Chestnut Hill Women's Volleyball team is back in action on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 when they travel to face cross-town rival University of the Sciences.  Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
