Queens, N.Y. - (9/19/2021) - Chestnut Hill College traveled to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Billie Jean King Tennis Center this weekend for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championships. The Scarlet and Gold struggled in the competition as no Griffin advanced beyond the first round of the Singles Draw and only the duo of sophomore
Joao Sousa (Figueira da Foz, Portugal) and senior
Joseph Gregory Kvint (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) saw success in the Doubles Draw; they scored a 9-8 (5) victory over Queens College senior Hugo Evangelista de Andrade (Goiania, Brazil) and sophomore Francisco Gonzalez (La Plata, Argentina), before bowing out on an 8-5 loss to Le Moyne College graduate student Tom Jarry (Paris, France) and junior Ethan Miller (Swindon, England).
Chestnut Hill College is scheduled to return to competition in the Spring of 2022, as they open thier Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with a March-12 match versus Post University.
