Volleyball Cruises to Win at Felician

Angela April and Erika Dubosky recorded double-doubles as the Chestnut Hill College Women's volleyball team completed a perfect week with a 3-1 win over Felician University in Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday.

The Griffins, winners of two straight are now 12-12 overall and 8-5 in central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches.  Felician falls to 2-22 overall and 2-12 in league play.  Chestnut Hill won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-17 while Felician took the third 25-21.  The griffins turned in a dominating performance in the fourth set, winning 25-10 to take the match.

The team also set a Division II era record for service aces in a four-set match with 19.  Mia Caporellie had seven aces while Henielys Ramos and Torrin Kelley had five apiece with April getting the remaining two.

April also had 14 kills and 12 digs on the afternoon for her first double-double of the season.  Dubosky notched her sixth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 13 digs.  Mikayla Grimes led the Griffins with 15 kills while Ramos narrowly missed a double-double with 14 kills and nine digs.

Caporellie recorded assists on 49 of the Griffins 55 kills to become just the second player in program history to record 900 or more assists in a season. She currently stands at 906 and leads the CACC with a 10.18 assists/set average. 

As a team the Griffins had 55 kills and hit .244 (55 kills-22 errors-135 attacks) while the golden Falcons had 38 kills and hit .200 (38-15-115).  Chestnut Hill had 55 digs to Felician's 49 while the Golden Falcons had seven team blocks to the Griffins three.

Chestnut Hill's Women's Volleyball team is on the road for their next two contests, a conference match at Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26th for a non-conference match at Millersville University.
