A come-from-behind win in the doubles competition along with four singles wins propelled the Chestnut Hill College women's Tennis team to a 5-2 win over Goldey-Beacom College on Thursday.

The Griffins improve to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Lightning dropped to 1-4 overall and in league play.

Alison Isaac and
Nele Haag, 5-1 in the match before the Griffins duo began a furious comeback. Isaac and Haag won three straight games to pull within 5-4 and survived match point in the next game to tie things up at 5-5. The two teams split the next two games to again even the match at 6-6 and force a tiebreaker.
At this point the other two doubles matches were decided with each team winning one, making the #2 doubles contest crucial to receiving the doubles point for the team score. Haag and Isaac dominated the tiebreaker game, defeating Canbaz and Brendel 7-0 to win the match 7-6 (7-0) and give the Griffins a 1-0 lead in the match by virtue of winning two of the three doubles contests.
Sophomore
Romi Meirovich won her second straight match after being moved up to #4 singles, defeating Jess Sanzo 6-3, 6-3 to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead. Isaac made it 3-0, completing a perfect day with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #2 singles before the Lightning got on the board with a win at #3 singles.
The Lightning's Elizabeth Mova pulled her team within one 3-2 with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) win over senior
Carlota Garcia Arguelles at #1 singles. Junior
Annika Wise then clinched the match for the Griffins with a win at #5 singles, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) over Brandel.
The Griffins scored their final point of the day when freshman
Claudia Rasilla earned a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) win over Asli Kunduk at #6 singles.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, October 8, 2022 when they host dominican university at the CHC Tennis Courts. First serve is set for noon.
