The Chestnut Hill College Women's bowling team won three of their five matches on the opening day of the Wildcat DII/II Invitational hosted by Wilmington University at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.

Highlighting the day was a win over nationally ranked Kutztown University in the Griffins second match of the day 892-846 and recording their high Baker match of the season in their 965-855 win over New Jersey City University (NJCU) in their final match of the day.

In the win over #25 Kutztown, Jess Hollabaugh (Folsom, Pa.) filled nine of ten frames and recorded strikes on 12 of 14 shots.  Chestnut Hill also had their high Baker game of the season during this set with a score of 267.

Three bowlers filled nine of ten frames as the Griffins bowled their high baker match of season in their win over NJCU, 965-855, eclipsing their previous high match of 955 set last week.  Eryn Moore (Bainbridge, Pa.), Maddie Gannon (Glenolden, Pa.), and Hope Widmer (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) all filled nine frames while Hollabaugh filled eight of ten.  Chase Clifford (Philadelphia, Pa.) had her best set of the year, filling seven of en frames.

The Griffins other win on the day came in their first match as they defeated Molloy College 803-776.  Hollabaugh and Widmer each filled nine of ten frames.  Hollabaugh recorded strikes in seven of the ten frames.

Chestnut Hill suffered losses in the middle matches, falling to host Wilmington, 848-739 and then to Caldwell University, 917-810.   Gannon led the team against the host wildcats filling eight of ten frames while Hollabaugh and Moore led the Griffins against the Cougars filling eight of ten frames apiece.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team will be back in action for the traditional match portion of the Wildcat DII/III Invitational on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
