Liam McCann, in his Chestnut Hill College debut, scored three goals as the Griffins lost to #13 Seton Hill University 12-5 in their season opener Sunday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Seton Hill (2-1) jumped out to a 5-0 lead before McCann put the Griffins on the board with his first goal at the 12:49 mark of the second period as J.R. Howell got the assist.  McCann added an unassisted goal just under four minutes later to make the score 7-2.  Jack Clyne rounded out the first half scoring with a goal with one second left on the clock as Maurice Kelly got the assist, making the score 7-3 at the half.

Zachary Whalen scored the Griffins only goal in the third quarter, unassisted at the 8:48 mark as Seton Hill expanded their lead to 10-4.

Seton Hill's McGarrity Harper and Thomas Hanulak each added their fourth goal of the game in the fourth quarter before McCann completed his hat trick with 2:15 left in the game to round out the scoring.  Howell again assisted on the final goal of the game. 

Jake Miller had 12 saves in goal for Chestnut Hill

The Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team returns to action on Sunday, February 27, 2022, for their home opener, taking on nationally ranked St. Anselm College at Victory Field #1.  The game is set to start at noon.
