The Series
Saturday's game will be the 17^th meeting between Bloomfield College and Chestnut Hill.  The Bears have won all 16 previous meetings including three CACC playoff games at Bloomfield's gym.  The Griffins are 0-6 against the Bears at Sorgenti Arena.

Conference Action
Chestnut Hill improved to 8-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games with Wednesday's win over Goldey-Beacom College.  The Griffins remain in second place in the CACC South Division, 1½ games behind division leader Jefferson and 1½ games ahead of third place Goldey-Beacom. Bloomfield is 5-5 in conference games and sits in fifth place in the CACC North division  ½ game behind third place Felician university.

About the Griffins:
The Griffins enter Saturday's game with a 11-8 overall record and an 8-3 mark in CACC games. 

A quartet of players are averaging double figures to lead the Griffins offense. Freshman MJ Iraldi is averaging 13.2 points per game and is the team's leading scorer following his 15-point, ten rebound effort vs. goldey-Beacom on Wednesday.  The freshman guard/small forward is shooting 48.9% from the field. (37.2% from three-point range).  He is fourth on the team with 13 steals and is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game (5^th on the team).
 
Division I transfer Nigel Haughton is the team's leading rebounder and playmaker, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game.  The sophomore guard is also averaging 12.4 points/game and is  shooting 44.3% from the field.  He is third on the team with 19 three-point baskets.   Haughton also leads the team with 27 steals and 53 assists. 
 
Amir Warrick is the third Griffin scoring in double figures, averaging 12.4 points per game while shooting 46.0% from the field.  Warrick is third on the team, averaging 5.6 rebounds/game and ranks third on the team with 31 assists and second on the team with 21 steals and 11 blocks.  James Rider IV rounds out the quartet of double figure scorers, averaging 10.0 points per game following his career high 31 points vs. Goldey-Beacom.  He leads the CACC in three-point field goal%, shooting 49.2% from three-point range (32-65).  He has made 20 of 22 free throws for a 90.9% average.
 
Trevonn Pitts is averaging 9.5 points per game and is fifth on the team with 12 steals. Conor Regan is averaging 8.7 points per game, is second on the team with 22 three-point field goals and fourth in rebounding (5.3/game) He leads the team in blocks with 17.
 
David Erebor is averaging 7.3 points per game and is shooting a team-best 53.3% from the field (9^th in CACC).  Erebor is second on the team in rebounds, averaging 5.9 per game.  Noah Charles is second on the team in assists with 49 and steals with 14 while averaging 4.1 points per game.

James Rider IV scored a career high 31 points and Conor Regan added 20 as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Basketball team came away with a convincing 90-71 win over host Goldey-Beacom College Wednesday night at the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Griffins improve to 11-8 overall and 8-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Lightning fall to 10-9 overall and 6-4 in league play.  The win also solidifies the Griffins second place position within the CACC south division.Chestnut Hill's 90 points are a season-high.

Rider connected on 10 of 12 shots from the field including 6-8 from three point range en route to his 31-point effort.  Regan was 8-for-10 from the field (3-5 3fg) to produce his 20 points.  MJ Iraldi scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Amir Warrick rounded out the double figure scorers with 13 points while grabbing nine rebounds.  Noah Charles led the team with eight points.

Warrick Named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll and adds PSCBA Honor
Chestnut Hill College Men's Basketball player Amir Warrick has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly honor Roll for his performance in the Griffins two games last week.

This week's honor marks the third time Warrick has been recognized by the conference, having been name to the weekly honor roll on December 20, 2021 and November 28, 2021. In addition Warrick was named to the Philadelphia Small College Basketball Association Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season.

Warrick reached double figures in scoring in both games last week as the Griffins went 1-1 for the week.  Opening the week against Holy Family, he scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds while also recording four steals and two assists as Chestnut Hill defeated the Tigers 63-59.  Against Wilmington on Sunday, Warrick led the Griffins with 21 points (8-15 FG) and again grabbed nine rebound. He also had a steal and an assist.

For the week, Warrick averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.   He shot 48% from the field (12-25) and 85.7%  (6-7) from the free throw line.

First Win
Chestnut Hill Head Coach J.J. Butler earned his first win as a head coach on November 17 as his Griffins defeated Bloomsburg University 76-69.  Two newcomers MJ Iraldi and Nigel Haughton were the catalysts for the Griffins as was David Erebor on defense.  Iraldi and Haughton combined for 41 points while Erebor had four blocks and eight rebounds while also contributing 11 points.

Dynamic Duos
The Griffins had two players score 20 or more points in a single game for the third time this season when they played at Goldey-Beacom College on February 2.   Senior James Rider IV poured in a career high 31 points while teammate Conor Regan added 20. This marks the 16^th time since the 2014-15 season that Chestnut Hill has had at least two players score 20 or more points in a single game

Earlier this season the Griffins  the Griffins had two games with two players scoring 20 or more. When they played West Chester on November 21, Amir Warrick scored a team-high 23 points while Nigel Haughton added 22 against the Golden Rams. Chestnut Hill also had two players scored 20 or more points in their win over Bloomsburg as MJ Iraldi led the team with 21 points and Nigel Haughton added 20.  

Prior to this season, the last time this feat occurred was on February 18, 2020 when three members of this year's squad, Amir Warrick (28 points), Trevonn Pitts (20), and James Rider IV (20) all reached the 20-point mark.

Scouting the Bears
Bloomfield is 7-13 overall and 5-5 in CACC games.  The Bears are just 3-7 in road contest this season.
 
A trio of players are scoring in double figures for the Bears led by Andres Fulgencio who is averaging 14.2 points per game.  He is shooting 46.8% from the field and is the team's second leading rebounder at 5.6 per game.
 
Tyrek Battle-Holley and Josh Morris are averaging 13.3 and 13.2 points per game respectively.  Battle-Holley leads the team shooting 48.1% from the field and is also the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 5.8 per game.  He is second on the team with 47 assists. Morris is shooting 81.3% from the free throw line.
 
Tariq McKenith leads the team with 47 assists and 31 steals while averaging 5.6 points per game. Edward Ngene is the bears' top shot blocker with 13 while Jeremiah Alexander has 11 blocks on the season.

Last Time Out for Bloomfield
NEW HAVEN, CONN - The men's basketball team traveled to New Haven Wednesday evening and suffered an 81-79 overtime loss to Southern Connecticut State University. The Bears final non-conference test of the season dropped them to 7-13 overall while the Owls improved 5-11 overall.
 
Bloomfield's offense was fueled by the tandem of Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) and Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ) who each recorded a double-double. Morris netted a team-high 14 points to go along with 10 boards for his first double-double of the year while Fulgencio registered 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor and collected 10 rebounds. Wesley Robinson (Burlington, NJ) also chipped in 13 points off the bench as the Bears squandered a 10-point lead (67-57) with 7:10 remaining in the 2^nd half.
 
Bloomfield's next contest will be Saturday afternoon when they square off with Chestnut Hill College. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference battle with the Griffins is set for a 3:00 pm tip-off.
