Women's Lacrosse Falls to Molloy

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team dropped their third consecutive game Sunday afternoon, losing to Molloy College 18-3 at victory Field #1 in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins fall to 1-3 overall while Molloy improves to 4-3.

Goalkeeper Mel Amador made a career-high 23 saves in the contest and surpassed 200 saves for her career.  With 206 total saves, Amador is ranked fifth on the Griffins all-time list.

Offensively, the Griffins got goals from Madyson Schwartz, Danielle Vassallo and Frances Vassallo, all unassisted and with the first two goals coming on free position shots.

Schwartz' goal in the first quarter tied the game at 1-1 before the Lions added three more goals to close out the period with a 4-1 lead.  Two more Molloy goals made the score 6-1 before Danielle Vassallo scored her goal to make the score 6-2 in the second quarter.

Molloy took an 8-2 lead at halftime and outscored the griffins 10-1 in the second half with Frances Vassallo scoring the lone Chestnut Hill goal.

Amador led the team with five ground balls while Lizzie Stokes and Danielle Vassallo had four apiece. Danielle Vassallo also had three caused turnovers.

The Chestnut Hill College women's Lacrosse team returns to action on Friday, March 18, 2022 when they host Jefferson University  at the Campus grass field near the tennis courts.  First draw is set for 4:30 p.m.
