The Chestnut Hill College women's Lacrosse team played their final home game of the season Wednesday night as they lost to Holy Family University 17-8 at Victory field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins fall to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Holy Family improves to 5-8 overall and 4-3 in league play.
Danielle Vassallo led the Griffins with three goals while
Rexney Thenor added two. Chestnut Hill also got goals from T
orrin Kelley, Frances Vassallo and
Madyson Schwartz.Â
Ashley Watson had three assists.
Molly Killion led the team with five ground balls while
Abigail Galazka had four caused turnovers.Â
Mel Amador had 11 saves in goal for the Griffins.
Thenor gave the Griffins an early 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at the 9:41 mark before the Tigers responded with five unanswered goals to lead 5-1.Â
Frances Vassallo pulled the Griffins within three 5-2 with a goal assisted by Watson at the 7:31 mark of the second quarter.  Thenor's second goal of the game with 2:12 left in the second quarter made the score 6-3 heading into halftime.
Holy Family outscored the Griffins 7-3 in the third quarter to open up a 13-6 lead with
Danielle Vassallo accounting for two of the Griffins' three goals. Kelley added a fourth quarter goal and
Danielle Vassallo completed her hat-trick to round out the scoring for the Griffins.
The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team  returns to action with a game at Post university on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Waterbury, Connecticut. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m.
