The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team faced four-time defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Georgian Court University Tuesday night at victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania with the Lions coming away with a 19-2 win.

Madison Schwartz (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Danielle Vassallo (Hicksville, Pa.) scored third quarter goals for the Griffins as Chestnut Hill outplayed the defending champs for much of the third quarter, particularly on the defensive end, holding the Lions to just one goal in the period.

Mel Amador (Cape May, N.J.) was a big part of that defense, stopping 21 shots on the night. Amador now has a league leading 144 saves on the season. The junior netminder also recorded her 300
th career save midway through the fourth quarter, becoming just the fifth player in program history to record 300 or more career saves. Amador's 15.38 saves per game average is the highest total among all NCAA Division II goalkeepers.
Schwartz's goal came with nine minutes left in the third quarter while the Griffins were a man-up. A little over five minutes later Vassallo scored making the score 14-2 at the time.Â
Vassallo led the Griffins (1-9. 0-5 CACC) with two ground balls and four caused turnovers.Â
Kaitlyn Carter (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Elizabeth Bennett (Swedesboro, N.J.) had two caused turnovers apiece.
Shane Sauter led the Lions (6-7, 5-0 CACC) with seven goals while Isabel Raimondi finished with nine points on two goals and seven assists.
