The National Tenpin Coaches Association today announced their 2021-22 NTCA All-Academic Team and Individual honors

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team was among the 52 teams recognized by the NTCA as an All-Academic Team, marking the sixth consecutive year that the Griffins have been recognized by the coaches association. (2016-17 to 2021-22)  To be recognized, programs must have a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of a 3.2 or higher for the academic school year. The Griffins first year of competition was 2016 so the team has earned the honor in every season they have competed. The Griffins had a 3.230 team g.p.a. for 2021-22.

Individually, three Griffin athletes were recognized as 2021-22 Individual All-Academic honorees. A student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher for the academic year to be recognized. Sophomore
Hope Widmer (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) becomes a two-time honoree with her selection this season while freshmen
Eryn Moore (Bainbridge, Pa.) and
Chase Clifford (Philadelphia, Pa.) earn the honor for the first time.
All three athletes were named to the CHC Academic Athletic Honor roll in both semesters this year, with Widmer also earing the honor twice in 2020-21. In addition, Widmer also was named to the East Coast Conference Commissioners Honor Roll for the 2020-21 academic year.
Including this year's honorees, 12 Chestnut Hill College bowlers have earned NTCA All-Academic recognition a total of 25 times since the bowling team's inaugural season of 2016-17.Â
