For the second match the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team took their opponent to five sets.  However, unlike their match on Saturday against Pace, the Griffins came out on the short end of a 3-2 decision, falling to Kutztown University Monday night at Sorgenti Arena.

The Griffins fall to 2-8 with the loss while Kutztown improves to 6-4.

Kutztown captured the first set 25-21 then the Griffins evened the match at 1-1 with a a 25-18 win in the second set.  The golden Bears followed with a 25-13 win in the third set to lead 2-1 in the match but the Griffins rallied to even the match at 2-2 with a 25-17 win in the fourth set.  The Golden Bears then took the match with a 15-4 win in the final set.

Mikayla Grimes (Fresno, Calif.) led the Griffins with 16 kills while Henielys Ramos (Trujillo Alto, P.R.) added 15. Erika Dubosky (Summit Hill, Pa.) added eight kills and two service aces while Mia Caporellie (Downingtown, Pa.) recorded 39 assists setting the Griffin offense and had nine digs.  Torrin Kelley (Hanover, Pa.) led the team with 13 digs.  Grimes and Ramos had nine and eight digs respectively.  Angela April (Ridley, Pa.) finished the match with four blocks.

Sadie Doss and Adrianna Derstine led Kutztown with 18 kills apiece.  Derstine also had a match high 14 digs.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team returns to action on Thursday, September 14, 2022 when they host Post University in a Central Atlantic collegiate conference crossover match at Sorgenti Arena.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
