Wildcats Snap Griffins Three Game Winning Streak

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team had their three game winning streak snapped Wednesday night as Wilmington University defeated the Griffins 3-1 at the WU Athletics Complex in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Griffins fall to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in central Atlantic collegiate Conference matches.  Wilmington improves to 2-2 in league play and 4-11 overall.
 
The two teams split the first two sets with the Wildcats winning the first 25-20 and the Griffins coming right back to tie the match by winning the second set 25-21.  Wilmington then took the final two sets, 25-20, 25-20 to win the match.

Henielys Ramos led all players with 20 kills and recorded her second consecutive double-double with 15 digs.  Mikayla Grimes also had her second consecutive double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.  Erika Dubosky added nine kills to go along with a team-high 16 digs.

Setting the offense was Mia Caporellie who recorded 39 assists.  Chloe Mettille led the team with four aces.

On the defensive end, Mettle and Torrin Kelley joined Ramos, Grimes and Dubosky in reaching double digits for digs with 11 and 12 respectively.  Kathryn Hanley had two blocks.

As a team, the Griffins had an attack percentage of .101 (46 kills, 29 errors in 168 attempts) while Wilmington hit .197 (47-18-147).  The Wildcats held a slight 78-74 advantage in dis and out-blocked the Griffins as a team 5-2.   The Griffins had a 12-8 advantage in service aces.
 
The Chestnut Hill College Women's volleyball team is back in action on Saturday, September 24, 2022 when they host Alliance University at Sorgenti arena.  Tipoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
