Schneider Juste for the touchdown. The two-point conversion failed and the Griffins were on the board, trailing 17-6.
The Montaineers came back with another touchdown to lead 24-6 as the third quarter progressed, taking advantage of a fumbled punt return to score.
Smith ran the ensuing kickoff back 39 yards to midfield to begin the Griffins next drive. Broderick then broke free on the first play and raced 50 yards for the touchdown to bring Chestnut Hill closer 24-12.
Mansfield added a late third quarter touchdown, but the Griffins came back with good field position thanks to Smith's 61 yard kickoff. However, the offense stalled, and they turned to ball over on downs at the eight yard line as the fourth quarter began.
The Griffins got their final score with just under four minutes remaining as
Zyier Pannell opened the drive with a 44-yard run and added 18 more on the ground before backup quarterback
C.J. Small found
Kyree Griffin open for a seven-yard touchdown pass with 3:41 left. Juste caught the two-point conversion attempt to make the final score 41-20.
The Griffins have a bye week next week before traveling to take on the University of Pennsylvania on Friday, October 7 at historic Franklin field in Philadelphia. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
