The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team earned two wins in the traditional match day at the Northeast Classic at Bowlero in Deptford, New Jersey.

The Griffins finished pool play with a record of 2-7 as the head into the bracket portion of the tournament on Sunday.

A bye match opened the day for the Griffins with the team bowling a 783.

Chestnut Hill faced defending national champion and current #1 ranked team in the NTCA was the Griffins first actual competition of the day.  CHC held their own against the Bearcats, losing by just 23 pins  912-889.  Senior Maddie Gannon led the Griffins with a 215 while sophomore Eryn Moore bowled a 204

The Griffins earned their first win of the tournament in the next match, defeating Mount Aloysius College 808-713.  Gannon again led the team with a score of 192.  Freshman Kayleina McGonigal rolled a 164 while junior Jessica Hollabaugh bowled a 160.

 Another ranked team took on the Griffins in their fourth match of the day, University of Central Missouri.  UCM rolled to a 956-845 win over the Griffins.  McGonigal bowled the Griffins' high match of  the day with a 218 while Hollabaugh followed with a 196.

CHC closed out the day with a 793-790 win over Adelphi University.  Junior Hope Widmer led the team with a score of 184 while Gannon followed with a 166.

For the day Gannon led the Griffins with 898 pins for an average of 179.60.  McGonigal tallied 844 pins for an average of 168.80

Bracket play for final tournament position begins on Sunday.  The Griffins currently seeded at #30  will open play against St. Francis College of Brooklyn, New York.
