The Chestnut Hill college bowling team concluded their competition at the Northeast Classic with three bracket play matches on Sunday, winning the first contest before dropping the next to finish in 30
th place overall at the tournament.
The Griffins opened the best-of-seven-baker format bracket play against St. Francis College of Brooklyn, New York, defeating the Terriers 4-0. CHC won the first game 193-169 and followed with 132-114 and 145-114 wins in the next two games before completing the sweep with a 161-136 win in game four.
Jessica Hollabaugh led the way, filling six of eight frames.
Bryant University defeated the Griffins 4-1 in the next match, winning the first three games, 152-149, 222-201 and 166-162 before the Griffins won game four 158-157. Bryant then captured game 5, 169-158. Hollabaugh filled all ten frames she bowled while
Maddie Gannon filed nine of ten and hope Widmer eight of ten.
Chestnut Hill faced New Jersey City University in their final match, losing to the Gothic Knights 4-3. The Griffins won the opening game 155-130 before dropping game 2 174-173 and game three 191-155. CHC evened the match up at two games apiece with 204-161 win in game four and took a 3-2 lead, winning game five 159-126. NJCU won the last two games, 172-137 and 192-133 to win the match.
Kayleina McGonigal filled 13 of 14 frames against NJCU while Gannon filled 11 of 14.
The Women's bowling team is back in action on February 4-5 when they host the Griffin Baker Classic in New Castle, Delaware.
