Amir Warrick scored a game-high 24 points, including the 1,000th of his career as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Basketball team edged Goldey-Beacom College 87-84 in overtime at Sorgenti Arena for their third consecutive victory.

The Griffins are now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Lightning fell to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Warrick entered the game needing 11 points to reach the 1,000 point milestone and quickly scored six of the Griffins first 12 points.  He reached the milestone on a free throw at the 4:41 mark, becoming the tenth player in program history to reach 1,000 points for their career.  Warrick went on to score 24 points, giving him 1,013 career points at the end of the game.

The graduate forward led four players in double figures connecting on ten of 15 shots from the field while also pulling down a game high eight rebounds.  He also scored the game tying three-point play towards the end of regulation and sank a free throw with 1.5 seconds left in overtime to seal the win.

Trevonn Pitts added a season-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds on the afternoon.  James Rider IV added 14 points while Noah Charles added ten points, including two key three point baskets in overtime to go along with a game-high six assists and four steals.  Conor Regan added five assists and three steals.

The Griffins led for the entire first half and much of the second before the Lightning took their first lead of the game with 7:23 remaining via a three-ball from Ayshion Centeno (12 points), 59-58.  The lead exchanged hands twice in the next two minutes before the Lightning produced a 7-1 run to reclaim the lead and expand it four points 67-63 with 4:23 left in regulation.  A basket from Adam Angwafo pulled the Griffins within one 69-68 before another Centeno bucket put the Lightning back up by three 71-68 as the clock wound down to under two minutes left.

The two teams both recorded defensive stops on their ensuing possession before the Griffins got the ball back and Warrick drove for a layup and was foul as the ball dropped through the hoop. With 1:27 left.  He promptly converted the three point play to tie the game at 71-71.  Neither team scored in the final 1:27 as the game went into overtime.

GBC's Mekhi Collins struck first in the extra frame just 16 seconds in, giving the Lightning a quick two point lead.  A Regan free throw, a Lightning turnover and a layup from Nigel Haughton put the Griffins back on top 74-73.  The Lightning scored five of the next seven points to regain the lead 78-76 with just under three minutes left.

The Griffins regained the lead before a three-ball by the Lighting put the visitors back on top 81-80.  Charles then followed with the first of his two three point baskets in the overtime giving CHC an 83-81 lead.  GBC's Tyshon Judge then made a traditional three-point play to flip the lead back to the Lightning with just 47 seconds remaining.  Charles followed that with a second three-point bucket, this one with 28 seconds to put the Griffins back up for good 86-84 before Warrick closed it out making one of two from the line with 1.5 seconds left.
