Cole Stanchina won a cross country race for the second time this season, leading the Chestnut Hill College Men's Cross Country team to a fourth place finish at the Cairn University Cairn Cup Meet Wednesday afternoon in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins finished with 82 points. University of Valley Forge won the race with 52 points.
Stanchina becomes just the second runner in program history to win two regular season races in the same season, joining Zigmund Fisher who was a two-time regular season winner in 2019. He completed the 8,000-meter course in 27:17.17, nearly 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.
Jason Fisher placed third overall with a time of 29:00.2 while Ryan O'Hara rounded out the Griffins' top three runners, placing 15th with a time of 33:24.03.
Rounding out the Griffins five finishers were Jason Rivas and Elijah Williams. Rivas finished the 8K race in 44:46.49 while Williams finished in 54:47.41.
Wednesday's race was the final tune-up before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship meet, held at Belmont Plateau on October 22, 2023.
