The Chestnut Hill College Sprint Football team struggled both offensively and defensively as Mansfield University rolled to a 33-7 win over the Griffins at Wissahickon High School Stadium in Ambler, Pennsylvania Saturday night.

The Griffins fall to 1-3 overall while the Mountaineers improve to 2-2.

Offensively the Griffins had just 115 yards total offense with just 68 yards passing and 47 net yards rushing.  Anthony Cancellare completed just seven of 27 passes while throwing one touchdown pass and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a Mansfield touchdown.

On the ground Zyier Pannell led the Griffins with 50 net yards rushing while Lawrence Howard V added 37.

Nick Ocampo scored the only touchdown for the Griffins, catching a seven yard pass from Cancellare on Chestnut Hill's opening drive of the third quarter, cutting the Mansfield lead to 19-7 at the time.

The Mountaineers scored twice in the third quarter following the Ocampo touchdown to take a 33-7 lead.  Neither team scored in the final quarter.

Mansfield rushed for 276 yards against the Griffins with quarterback Cashid Raymond running for 104 yards and two touchdowns.  He also threw for 64 yards and one touchdown.  Bryce Allen scored the remaining Mansfield touchdown on an interception return.

Jonathan Havrilak led the Griffins with ten tackles while Lex Williams and Amir Jenkins had nine apiece.

The Sprint Football team returns to action on Friday, October 20, 2023, when they travel to take on the U.S. Naval Academy (NAVY) in Annapolis, Maryland.  Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m.
