Maya Hopson was near perfect on the attack as the Chestnut Hill College women's volleyball team defeated Caldwell University Saturday afternoon at the Newman Center in Caldwell, New Jersey.
The Griffins improve to 8-12 overall and 7-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.
Hopson recorded ten kills on just 11 attacks and had no attack errors for an attack% of .909, a school record for attack% with less than 15 attempts and ten kills.Â
Erika Dubosky also had ten kills to lead the Griffins along with Hopson.Â
Mia Caporellie recorded five service aces and had 31 assists. Caporellie broke past the 2,500 career assist mark in the match also has 123 career aces with her five in the match this afternoon, fifth on the Griffins all-time list and just two behind CHC's all-time division II era (2008-present) leader  (
Henielys Ramos - Â 125).
Angela April added three service aces while
Natalie Albin chipped in two.
Rachel Mace led all players with 14 digs on the afternoon while Albin added nine. April and
Pamela Uceta each had a block.
Comparing the numbers, the Griffins recorded 43 kills to the Cougars 22 and held the advantage with a .341 attack% (43-14-85) to .093 (22-14-86). CHC had 14 services aces while Caldwell had three.  The Griffins also had a 43-22 advantage in digs.Â
The Women's Volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 when they host Bloomsburg University at Sorgenti Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
