The Chestnut Hill College Men's cross Country team raced to a sixth place finish Sunday morning at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
The Griffins finished with 140 points, just ten behind fifth place Felician University. Wilmington University won the team title with 46 points.
Cole Stanchina led the way for the Griffins, finishing seventh overall to earn his second consecutive All-CACC honors. Stanchina finished with a time of 27:51.06. He also becomes the fourth Griffin men's cross country athlete to earn all-CACC accolades multiple times.
Christopher Nelson placed 16
th overall with a time of 28:54.05 with
Jason Fisher joining him and Stanchina as the three Griffins who broke the 30-minute mark for the race. Fisher was 23
rd overall with a time of 29:57.95.
Ryan O'Hara was the next finisher for Chestnut Hill, placing 31
st overall with a personal-best time of 31:00.57.Â
Jason Rivas and
Elijah Williams rounded out the Griffins' runners competing at the meet. Rivas completed the 8K course in 42:47.50 while Williams finished in 55:08.71.
Up next for the Griffins will be the NCAA East Region Championship held in Hopkinton, New Hampshire on November 4, 2023.
