The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team continued their solid play in conference matches, earning a 7-0 win over Dominican University of New York at the Riley Family Tennis Courts in Sparkill, New York Tuesday afternoon.
The Griffins improve to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games with their only hiccup coming against defending CACC champion Wilmington University.  Dominican fall to 0-5 overall and league play.
The match opened with the Griffins winning two of the three doubles contests to secure the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead in the match.Â
Alison Isaac and
Nele Haag improved to 4-1 in conference play as a doubles team with a 6-2 win over Angelina Amelkina and Lia Sajveladze at #2 doubles. Â
Annika Wise teamed up with
Claudia Rasilla for the first time this season and the duo took the #3 doubles match, 6-3 over Vanya Tyragi and Preeti Koli.
The Griffins went on to sweep all six singles matches recording straight set victories in five of them. Isaac defeated Bipasha Mehn, 6-2, 7-5 at #1 singles while Haag was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Amelkina at #2 singles.Â
Romi Meirovich recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win over Tyagi at #4 singles and
Lillian Bandel notched a 6-1, 6-4 win over Selina Donecker at #3 singles. Wise completed her 2-0 day with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Sajveladze at #5 singles and Â
Elena Arenas Guisasola completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-7 (6-8), 1-0 (10-6) win over Koli and #6 singles.
The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team returns to action as the begin their second rotation through the CACC with a match at Jefferson University on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The match is scheduled for a noon start.
