Five Griffin Women's Soccer Players Named to the CSC Academic All-District® Team

Five members of the Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Soccer Academic All-District® Team.

Earning CSC Academic All-District® honors were seniors Molly Killion and Rachel Apsley along with sophomores Maddie Camillo, Rebecca Dalton, and Virginia Perry.

To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be in at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 90 percent of their team's contests or start in 66% and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better.
 
Killion earns CSC Academic All-District® Women' soccer team honors for the second straight season while also earning  a 2023 at-large team selection  for women's lacrosse.  A senior defender, Killion was a key figure on the Griffins'' defensive unit that earned the team a berth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament for the second consecutive season.  Molly was one of four players on the team to start all 16 games in 2023.

An English Literature and Writing major, Killion is a two-time Division 2 Athletic Director's Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award winner as well as earning CACC All-Academic Team status twice.  In the spring of 2023, Killion was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta honor society (English) as well as Chi alpha sigma, the National Student athlete honor society.  She has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in every semester while at Chestnut Hill.

Apsley, a Criminal Justice major, appeared in 15 games this season, starting 13 as a midfielder.   She finished fourth on the team with four points (one goal, two assists). Like Killion, Rachel is a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner and was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma in the spring of 2023. She has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor Roll accolades twice since transferring to Chestnut Hill for the spring 2022 semester.

Camillo, a health sciences major, appeared in all 16 games for the Griffins this season, starting 14 as a defensive midfielder.   She finished the season with six total shots and three shots on goal while logging 1,262 minutes.  She earned CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in each of her first two semesters at Chestnut Hill along with being named to the Dean's List in the spring of 2023.

Dalton played in 15 games this season, starting ten at the midfielder position, logging 966 minutes. She finished third on the team in scoring with six points (two goals and two assists) with 16 shots on goal among her 19 total shots.  Rebecca has earned CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll accolades in each of her first two semesters at Chestnut Hill. 

Perry, a Criminal Justice major, played in 15 games this season at both forward and midfield positions, logging in 1,129 minutes while starting 13 games.  She tallied one assist on the season and had 14 total shots (four on goal).  Perry has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll accolades in each of her first two semesters at Chestnut Hill.

Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee. Honorees will be announced in December.
