Madyson Schwartz recorded her team-leading fifth multiple goal game as the Chestnut Hill Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 17-3 decision to Post University on Saturday at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins' record falls to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Post improves to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Schwartz tallied all three goals for the Griffins and led the team with 12 shots and four ground balls.
Molly Killion added three ground balls and had four caused turnovers.
Mel Amador had ten saves on 27 shots on goal in net for Chestnut Hill.
The Eagles scored on their opening possession before Schwartz provided the equalizer at the 12:19 mark. Post went on to score six more times in the first period and took a 7-1 lead after the first quarter. Schwartz then added her second goal, this one on a free position shot at the 10:19 mark, making the score 7-2. Post added a quick goal 20 seconds later and went on to score three more times in the second quarter to take an 11-2 lead at halftime.
Two more scores by the Eagles highlighted the third quarter and Post opened the scoring in the fourth quarter with a man-up score, giving the visitors a 14-2 lead. Schwartz then scored her final goal of the game, an unassisted strike at the 9:13 mark.
Morgan Cassiliano led the Eagles with six goals on the day.
The Women's Lacrosse team returns to action on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 when they travel to Lakewood New Jersey to face defending CACC champion Georgian Court University. First draw is set for 3:00 p.m.
