Madyson Schwartz recorded her ninth game with three or more goals Tuesday night but the Chestnut Hill college women's Lacrosse team lost to holy Family University 15-3 at Tiger Field in northeast Philadelphia.
The Griffins fall to 5-9 overall and 2-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  The Tigers improve to 7-9 overall and 6-3 in league play.
Schwartz scored all three CHC goals while taking nine of the Griffins 13 shots on the night. Kaitlyn Carter grabbed six ground balls and Molly Killion had four caused turnovers. Mel Amador made 23 saves in goal.
Holy Family jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. Schwartz took a pass from Abigail Galazka in the opening minute of the second quarter to close the gap to 3-1 before the Tigers produced six straight goals to take a 9-1 lead by halftime,
Schwartz again opened the scoring in the third quarter with her second goal of the game, this one coming off a pass from Rexney Thenor. Holy Family scored twice in the period and took an 11-2 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Tigers scored four straight goals as the fourth period progressed, taking a 15-2 and forcing running time after going up by ten goals. Schwartz had her final goal of the night with 1:21 left in the game.Â
The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Saturday, April 22, 2023 when they host Caldwell University at the CHC Athletic Field at 3:00 p.m.  The Griffins will also recognize their seniors in a ceremony prior to the start of the game.
