Volleyball Team Splits Their Two Matches at East Stroudsburg

Rachel Mace recorded two double-doubles on the afternoon as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team split their two matches at East Stroudsburg University Saturday afternoon, defeating College of St. Rose 3-0 and losing to the host Warriors 3-0.

The Griffins are now 1-4 overall.  Saint Rose drops to 3-7 while East Stroudsburg improves to 5-5.

Chestnut Hill swept the three sets against St. Rose by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-13.  The Warriors defeated the Griffins with scores of 25-8, 25-20 and 25-18.

Mace recorded 11 kills and 16 digs in the win over St. Rose and added ten kills and 19 digs as the Griffins fell to ESU. The freshman hitter also tallied three service aces against St. Rose

Against St. Rose, Erika Dubosky added nine kills and three service aces while Mia Caporellie set the offense with 37 assists   On the defensive side, Dubosky added 14 digs while Maya Hopson had four solo blocks.  Angela April also had two blocks.

Dubosky equaled Mace's ten kills in the East Stroudsburg match while also adding three aces for the second consecutive match. Caporellie had 29 assists setting the Griffins' offense.  Torrin Kelley added nine digs to CHC's defensive effort while Dubosky and Caporellie had seven digs apiece against ESU.

The Chestnut Hill college women's volleyball team opens conference play with a match at Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.  Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
