The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team tipped off their 2023 season at the PSAC East Kickoff Tournament Saturday afternoon with matches against Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Rollins College at West Chester University.
The Griffins dropped both matches on the afternoon, falling to IUP 3-0 in their season opener while dropping a 3-1 decision to Rollins College.
In the opener against IUP, the Crimson Hawks opened with a 25-15 win before completing the sweep with scores of 25-20 and 25-15.  In the second match, Rollins won the first set 25-18 with the Griffins taking the second set 25-22 to even the match at 1-1. Rollins won the next two sets by identical 25-15 scores to take the match.
Erika Dubosky led the Griffins against the Crimson Hawks with seven kills while
Rachel Mace added six.Â
Mia Caporellie set the offense with 18 assists. On the defensive side Mace and
Natalie Albin had 11 digs apiece while Dubosky added nine.
Maya Hopson had three blocks.
Mace added ten kills and seven digs against Rollins. Dubosky and
Angela April had seven kills apiece. Caporellie chipped in five kills, had five service aces and a team-high eight digs to go along with her 23 assists. All five of Caporellie's aces came in the second set which was won by the Griffins. Â April also led the team with three blocks.
The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, with a match at Kutztown University. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
