The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team dropped a tough contest Tuesday night at Kutztown University, falling to the Golden Bears 3-2 in a non-conference regional match.
The loss drops the Griffins record to 0-3 on the season. Kutztown improves to 2-2.
The host Golden Bears opened the match with a 25-20 win before the Griffins tied it up taking the second set 25-18. Kutztown followed with a 25-23 win in the third set before Chestnut Hill forced a fifth and deciding set with a 26-24 win in set four. The fifth set saw six ties and three lead changes before the Golden Bears pulled it out with a 19-17 win to clinch the match.
Three Griffins recorded double-doubles on the night. Junior
Erika Dubosky had 15 kills and 19 digs, while freshman
Rachel Mace continued her solid play with her first collegiate double-double, notching team-highs in kills (16) and digs (26).  Senior setter
Mia Caporellie recorded 36 assists and had 16 digs for her first double-double of the season.

Natalie Albin contributed 22 digs to the Griffins' defensive effort. Defensively the Griffins recorded 13 team blocks, tying the school's single game record for a 5-set match. Individually
Cha'kya Johnson assisted on seven blocks and
Angela April added six (one solo).Â
Maya Hopson assisted on five blocks.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday September 16, 2023 when they travel to East Stroudsburg University for a tri-match against the College of St. Rose and the host Warriors. First match begins at 2:30 p.m.
