Chestnut Hill College Triumphs over Wilmington in an Electrifying Volleyball Showdown

In a thrilling volleyball matchup between Chestnut Hill College and Wilmington University, the Griffins were able to pull off an amazing comeback. As fans gathered to watch this intense match between two strong teams, the gymnasium was filled with excitement to see an amazing comeback as the Griffins rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2.
 
The Griffins remain undefeated in conference (CACC) play with a 2-0 record while handing the Wildcats their first conference loss (1-1) 

The Wildcats took the lead in the first set with a score of  25-7 and followed with a win in the second set with a score of 25-13. Erika Dubosky and Rachel Mace were key players in the third set, combining for eight of the team's 17 kills as the Griffins eked out a 25-23 win.  The duo combined along with Angela April and Cha'kya Johnson  to record 13 of Chestnut Hill's 15 kills as the Griffins forced a fifth and deciding set with a 25-16 win.    Mace recorded six of the team's 12 kills as the the Griffins pulled ahead towards the end to win the set 18-16 and the match 3-2.
 
Mace led all players with 15 kills while Dubosky added 14.  Both players also  recorded double-doubles as Mace added 25 digs and Dubosky 19.  Mia Caporellie had her own double-double with 39 assists and 13 digs. Torrin Kelley chipped in 14 digs from the libero position while April led the team with four blocks.. 

The two teams continuously exchanged blows throughout the entire game. With a combined 40 kills for Wilmington, Cailyn Smiley, Brice Hansen, and Shannen Litten displayed their offensive skills while launching strong spikes that kept Chestnut Hill College's defense on their toes. 

The tension in the gym increased as the match came to a close. In the end, Chestnut Hill College triumphed, earning the victory and putting the volleyball team's overall record at 3 - 4. The crowd cheered loudly, applauding the outstanding efforts of the Griffin's win over Wilmington. This volleyball match between Wilmington and Chestnut Hill College will undoubtedly go down as one of the most exciting matchups. 
 
The Chestnut Hill college women's volleyball team will return to action on Saturday, September 23, 2023 to face defending conference champion Jefferson University on their home court.  The Griffins will also play Adelphi University later in the day.  The Jefferson match tips off at 11:00 a.m. with Adelphi facing the Griffins at 1 :00 p.m.
