The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team continued their solid play Saturday, rebounding from their first conference loss earlier in the week to defeat Post University 5-2 at the CHC Tennis Courts.

The Griffins improve to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games.  Post falls to 5-4 overall and 2-3 in league action.

Chestnut Hill earned the first point of the match by sweeping the three doubles contests.  Annika Wise and Elena Arenas Guisasola was the first doubles team to win, defeating Julia D'Occhio and Nina Langenfeld 6-0 at #3 doubles.    Nele Haag and Alison Issac battled to a 6-4 win at #2 doubles over Annunciata DeSousa and Natalia Gonzolez to clinch the point while CHC's #1 doubles team of Romi Meirovich and Lilian Bandel completed the sweep with a 6-4 win over Megan Lombardt and Michaela Rosignuolo.

Moving onto singles play, Meirovich gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Langenfeld at #4 singles and Wise brought the Griffins to the brink of clinching the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Gonzolez at #5 singles, making the score 3-0.  

Post pulled within one point, 30-2 with wins at #2 and #3 singles before Isaac shut the door with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over Rosignuolo at the #1 singles spot.  Arenas Guisasola finished the day with a win at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-0 over D'Occhio.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, when they travel to face Dominican University.  The match will be played at the St. Thomas Aquinas college Tennis Courts and is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
