Griffins Continue Competition on Day Two of Northeast Classic

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team continued their competition at the Northeast Classic in Wilmington Delaware on Saturday with five traditional format matches. 

Similar to Friday's competition, the Griffins again faced multiple nationally ranked programs on the second day of competition, taking on three more top 25 teams.  Chestnut Hill was competitive throughout but came away with just one win for the day, finishing 1-4 and moving to 20-23 overall on the season.

Jessica Hollabaugh led the Griffins in the traditional format matches with a five-match score of 939, placing in the top half of the 200-plus bowlers who bowled at least one match on Saturday.

Chestnut Hill's lone win on Saturday came against Mount Aloysius College in the Griffins' fourth match of the afternoon, 832-827.  Hollabaugh had her highest match of the day with a score of 226.  Eryn Moore bowled a 180.

The Griffins opened the day against #23 University of Central Missouri, losing to the Jennies 861-794.  Abigail Crumb led the Griffins with a score of 173 followed by Kayleina McGonigal and Hollabaugh with identical 164 scores.

Stephen F. Austin University, the #9 ranked team nationally, handed the Griffins a 1119-938 loss, in CHC's second match.  Their 938 score was their highest of the afternoon.  Hollabaugh had her first of two 200+ matches on the afternoon, with a score of 225.  Moore also had her highest match of the day with a score of 200 and McGonigal rolled a 198.

Chestnut Hill then faced #11 Sam Houston State University in the third match of the day.  SHSU defeated the Griffins 1095-837.  McGonigal had her high score of the day, rolling a 209 to lead the Griffins. Moore and Hollabaugh each bowled 170.

Rounding out the Griffins' five matches was Adelphi University.  The Panthers took that contest 876-757.  Moore led the team with a score of 177.
Competition at the Northeast Classic concludes on Sunday with the best-of-seven-baker bracket matches.
