The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team extended their winning streak to six matches Tuesday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Post University in Middlebury, Connecticut.
The Griffins improved to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches and have secured a spot in the upcoming CACC Championship Tournament. Post falls to 1-7 in league play and 2-11 overall.
Chestnut Hill started the day with a sweep of the three doubles matches. At #2 doubles, Romi Meirovich and Claudia Rasilla recorded a 6-0 win over Annelein Van Urk and Nina Langenfeld while Elena Arenas Guisasola and Annabel Snow  were winners at #3 doubles, defeating Romy Leussink and Gioia Turco by an identical 6-0 score. The Griffins'  #1 doubles team of Alison Isaac and Lilian Bandel completed the sweep with a 6-2 win over Megan Lombardt and Julie Merlin.
The CHC's doubles teams of Isaac and Bandel along with Meirovich and Rasilla are both undefeated in doubles play with 4-0 records since they began pairing as doubles partners.
Meirovich gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Van Urk at #4 singles while Rasilla recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win over Romy Leussink at #5 singles to make the score 3-0.
Isaac clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lombardt at #1 singles and remained undefeated in conference play this season (7-0 doubles, 6-0 in singles).
Bandel improved to 6-1 in conference singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Langenfeld at #3 singles and Arenas made the score 6-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Merlin at #2 singles. Anisha Reddy Thada rounded out the scoring for the Griffins with a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) win over Melanie Leussink at #6 singles.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, October 12, 202, with a home match against Goldey-Beacom college. First serve at the CHC Tennis courts is set for 12:00 p.m.
