The Chestnut Hill College women's Tennis team got back on the winning track Sunday afternoon as they defeated Kutztown University 5-2 at the CHC Tennis Courts.
The Griffins improve to 10-3 overall, their second consecutive season with at least ten wins, marking the first time the women's tennis program had back-to-back ten-win seasons since the 2015-16 season when the Griffins completed their sixth straight 10+ win season. Kutztown falls to 1-2
Chestnut Hill swept both doubles matches that were played. The Bears only had five players so the Griffins won #3 doubles by default.  Lilian Bandel and Claudia Rasilla won their #2 doubles match 6-0 over Ryleigh Bohning and Gabby Gentile while Alison Isaac and Romi Meirovich won their #1 doubles contest, defeating Emma Semery and Isabela de Nadai 6-2.
A default win at #6 singles due to KU only having five players, quickly made the score 2-0. Isaac followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Semery at #1 singles to increase the lead to 3-0 and Meirovich clinched the match with a double-bagel 6-0, 6-0 win over Bohning at #4 singles.
Kutztown earned a win at #3 singles when Bandel retired after the first set. Rasilla earned the Griffins final point with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gentile at #5 singles. The Bears earned their final point with a win at #2 singles.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 with another key conference match as they host defending CACC champion Wilmington University at the CHC Tennis Courts. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.   Â
