The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team concluded their regular season Thursday afternoon with a 7-0 win over Dominican University at Manny Welder Park in Monsey, New York.
The Griffins finish their conference season with a 7-3 mark and improve to 11-3 overall.Â
Chestnut Hill started off by sweeping he doubles contests, taking #3 doubles by default and capturing the doubles point as the Griffins' #1 doubles team of Alison Isaac and Elena Arenas Guisasola earned a 6-0 win over Ava O'Brien and Lia Sarjveladze. Romi Meirovich and Annabel Snow completed the sweep with a 6-1 win over Kyla Fouts and Olivia Lopez at #2 doubles.
The Chargers who were playing shorthanded defaulted at #6 singles to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead. Meirovich made the score 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sarjveladze at #3 singles and Snow scored a 6-1, 6-2 win over O'Brien at #4 singles to give the Griffins a 4-0 lead and clinch the match.
Anisha Reddy Thada defeated Lopez 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles and Arenas defeated Fouts 6-4, 6-0 at #2 singles. Isaac completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Angelina Amelkina at #1 singles, completing her perfect regular season of conference play with a 9-0 singles record and a 10-0 doubles record.
The Griffins will face Goldey-Beacom college in the semi-final round of the Central Atlantic collegiate conference Championship on Saturday at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, Delaware. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
