The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team continued their solid start to their season, winning their fifth straight match 7-0 over Ursinus College Thursday afternoon at UC's Ace Bailey Tennis Courts.
The Griffins improve to 7-2 on the season with the win.
The Griffins opened the match with a sweep of all three doubles matches, losing just one game along the way.  Elena Arenas Guisasola and Anisha Reddy Thada won at #3 doubles, 6-0 while Romi Meirovich and Claudia Rasilla also recorded a 6-0 win at #2 doubles. Alison Isaac and Lilian Bandel completed the sweep with a 6-1 win at #1 doubles.
Bandel scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Katarina Yu at #2 singles to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead while Meirovich defeated Morgan Coupe at #4 singles by the identical 6-0, 6-0 score to up the Griffins lead to 3-0. Rasilla clinched the match for the Griffins with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Shannon Stewart at #5 singles.Â
Reddy made the score 5-0, defeating Fiona Finnerty 6-0, 6-2 at #6 singles. Arenas followed with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Caroline Daly  and Alison Isaac recorded a 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) win over Allie Armour at #1 singles to complete the sweep.
The women's tennis team returns to action on October 9, 2024, with a match at Post University. First serve is at 3:00 p.m. Â
