A new era has begun for the Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team as the commenced their 2024-25 season under new head coach Kristina Scimone at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Meet in Rockaway, New Jersey on Saturday.
Saturday's matches were all traditional format contests as the Griffins faced each of their five conference foes in a head to head competition.
The Griffins opened the day against Wilmington, losing to the Wildcats 916-658. Chase Clifford led Chestnut Hill with a score of 157 while filling six of ten frames. Newcomers Devin Warner and Rebecca Cessna in their first collegiate match also filled six of ten frames.
Clifford again had the high game for the team as the Griffins lost to Holy Family 731-597. She then bowled her high game of the day, with a score of 212 in CHC's 911-605 loss to Felician University. Clifford filled eight of ten frames in the match.
Host Caldwell University handed the Griffins a 969-639 loss in the team's fourth match of the day. Cessna and Clifford filled six of ten frames apiece with Clifford again scoring CHC's high game wit ha score of 161. Taylor Graham filled five of ten frames.
In what was Chestnut Hill's closest and highest scoring match of the day, the Griffins fall 868-744 to Dominican University. Clifford bowled her second 200+ match of the afternoon, rolling a 210 while filling seven of ten frames. The veteran bowler also recorded seven strikes in 11 chances. Anna Coulter had her high game of the day against the Chargers with a score of 145 as did Graham with a score of 144.
Competition concludes at the CACC Meet on Sunday with five baker format matches.
