The Chestnut Hill college women's bowling team opened competition at the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational on Friday at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.  Five baker matches were on the schedule as the Griffins finished the day in ninth place among the 13 teams competing.

The Griffins finished the day with a total pinfall of 4,278, just 89 pins behind eighth place Daemen University, going 1-4 in their five matches.  Kayleina McGonigal led the Griffins, filling 42 out of the 50 frames bowled.

Chestnut Hill's lone win of the day came in their third match as they defeated Dominican University 863-767.  McGonigal filled eight of ten frames in the match.

In the team's opening match, McGonigal filled all ten frames and recorded six strikes as the Griffins lost to Caldwell University 996-866.

Daemen University handed the Griffins a 975-888 loss in the second match of the day.  Jess Hollabaugh filled nine of ten frames while Abigail Crumb and McGonigal filled eight of ten apiece.

Following their win over Dominican in the third match, Chestnut Hill was defeated by Mercyhurst University, 944-874.  Chase Clifford filled all ten frames.  McGonigal record eight strikes in 15 attempts and filled eight of ten frames.

The Griffins closed out the day with a 961-787 loss to Felician University.  McGonigal and Eryn Moore filled eight of ten frames apiece.

Competition resumes tomorrow at the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational with the 13 teams competing in five team matches.
