The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team opened conference play Wednesday night with a loss to Wilmington University.
The Griffins drop to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. The Wildcats up their record to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Lauren Sullivan led the Griffins with four total shots, two of which were on goal.Â
Molly Killion added two shots (one on goal) while
Anna Sanverdine and
Elizabeth Deal had one shot on goal apiece.
Killion and
Riley Regan had two ground balls apiece while Killion, Deal and
Abby Galazka each recorded a caused turnover.Â
Virginia Perry had nine saves in goal for the Griffins.
Wilmington scored 11 times in the first period but the Griffins defense hunkered down in the second to limit the visitors to just two goals. The Wildcats added 11 more goals in the final two periods to come away with a 24-0 win.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Friday, March 22, 2024 when they travel to Dominican University for their first road game of the season. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
