The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team played their first road game of the season Friday afternoon for their second conference game of the season, losing to Dominican University of New York.
The Griffins drop to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. The Chargers up their record to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Riley Regan scored the lone goal for the Griffins, an unassisted score with 2:03 left in the first period. Regan also led the team with three total shots (two on net).Â
Nicole George added two shots and
Molly Killion had one shot on goal.
Killion led the team with four ground balls while George and
Allyson Smith had two apiece. Killion and
Lauren Sullivan won three draw controls apiece.
Elizabeth Deal had two caused turnovers while Killion, Sullivan, George, and
Virginia Perry had one apiece. Perry also made eight save in net for the Griffins.
Dominican scored eight times in the first period and took an 8-1 lead into the next quarter. The Chargers added five more goals in the second quarter to lead 13-1 but the Griffins' defense limited the Chargers to just five total goals in the final 30 minutes of action for a final score of 18-1
The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, March 26, 2024, when they travel to nearby Jefferson University for their third CACC contest of the season. Start time is set for 3:00 p.m.
