Molly Killion scored three goals as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse team dropped their third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game, falling to Jefferson University, 20-5 Tuesday at Jefferson's Ravenhill Field.
The Griffins fall to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in league play. The Rams improve to 4-0 in league play and 4-3 overall.
Chestnut Hill's five goals were the most scored against the Rams in a women's lacrosse contest since the 2019 season. In addition to Killion's hat trick,
Lauren Sullivan and
Nicole George also scored goals on the afternoon.
Elizabeth Deal led the team with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.Â
Virginia Perry and
Riley Regan added three ground balls apiece while
Anna Sanverdine also produced three caused turnovers.
Killion scored the first of her three goals with 7:43 left in the second quarter with a score off a free position shot to make the score 10-3. Killion added another free position goal with 5:20 left in the third quarter and scored her final goal of the game three minutes into the fourth quarter.
Sullivan got the Griffins on the board early with a man-up goal at the 10:42 mark of the first quarter, cutting the Rams lead to 2-1 at the time. Sullivan later won the draw to open the second quarter and a few passes later, George found the back of net to make the score 5-2 just 42 seconds into the quarter. A
llyson Smith earned the assist on the goal.
The women's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 when they host Holy Family University at victroy Field. Game is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
